CAPE AGULHAS

Cape Agulhas is the southernmost point of the African continent. The meridian that passes through it also represents the imaginary boundary between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

Cape Agulhas is located approximately 230 km east of Cape Town. Because the journey takes several hours, it is ideal to split the trip over two days and complement it with shark cage diving in Gansbaai.

Day 1 - We will travel through the beautiful South African countryside to Agulhas National Park. Cape Agulhas is the southernmost point of the African continent and the place where the waters of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. After exploring Cape Agulhas and Agulhas National Park, we will move to the town of Gansbaai, where we will stay overnight.

Day 2 - In the morning, we will take a boat trip to Dyer Island, during which you will see the so-called Big 5 marine animals - whales, sharks, dolphins, seals, and penguins. As part of this 2 to 3-hour boat trip, there is an option to go cage diving for an additional fee and observe great white sharks up close. After that, we will head to the town of Hermanus, considered the world center for southern right whale watching, as they come very close to the shore, sometimes within 20 meters. Whales can be seen in Hermanus from August to the end of November. The return journey from Hermanus to Cape Town follows the Atlantic Ocean coastline and offers stunning natural scenery.
